Lines and Cross Hatching in Portrait Drawings

A portrait drawing style that impresses from afar and especially up close. The cross hatch is a style I truly like. 

Tri Le drew all of the art you see on this page.

As I said in the first paragraph, these drawings are great when seen from afar, but they are truly fascinating when you see them up close.  That is why I have included a few WIPs, drawing studies and closeups.

Drawing 4 is particularly interesting, as it is divided into four sections sporting completed in different styles.

Drawing eight shows a variation on the line theme.  This appears in the thickness of the lines.  They help give the overall piece more interest and a variation that adds texture to the portrait.

This post and this work are interesting to look at and a chance to try them out, if you are an artist.  Maybe you can add to your set of skills?
