Design Stack: A Blog about Art, Design and Architecture: White Pencil Animal Drawings

In this post you will see black and white animal drawings created using a white pencil.
Stefania Gaboardi drew all of the art you see on this page.
So many wonderful animals have gathered in this post to be seen by viewers. Cats and dogs, an elephant, a rabbit, a hare and bird species in the form of a swan and an owl.
I like the variety of styles with which Gaboardi executes these pieces. Some of the beings are fully detailed. Some of them appear to be partially completed. I am specifically referring to the cat and the wolf. Then there are others that lean towards a minimalist approach. The sketch I like the most is the one in image 5. This piece highlights that a finished drawing doesn’t have to have everything graphically spelled out. In this case, the light only allows us to see so much. The rest is not even in silhouette and yet, my eyes/brain accept it as a fully drawn and finished piece.
Many of the sketches you see on this page validate the saying “Sometimes less is more.”
