Design Stack: A Blog about Art, Design and Architecture: Scribble Ink Animal Drawings

The scribble drawing style is used to depict all sorts of lovely animals in a multitude of colors.
Cody James drew all of the animals you see on this page. If you look at the artist’s Instagram page, you can watch some videos on how they are drawn.
The scribble style is one that adds so much character and texture to the pieces the artist chooses to depict. It’s a very clever and skilfull way of drawing random-looking lines and, by doing so, allowing images of animals, people and objects to appear from them.
I think that the dogs and wolf are my favourites. Not only are they beautifully drawn, but they are also wonderfully displayed on the page. There is so much to be liked in each one of the drawings. When they are all together like this, their qualities grow exponentially.
As I said above, you can actually see the artist at work and it truly is fascinating to see how, behind the seemingly random movement of the pen, the subject, in this case the animal, starts taking shape. If you get time, have a look.
