Design Stack: A Blog about Art, Design and Architecture: Pencil Portrait Drawing Studies

A fantastic look at a selection of pencil portrait drawings.
Jonathan Aller drew all of the faces you see on this page.
Amongst all of the drawing studies there is one WIP progression drawing. It’s drawing number 5. This is a process by which the artist takes pictures of the work at various stages of completion. Here you can see the technique at work and how the artist goes around to complete each portion.
The rest include multiple drawings of people on the same page.
They all have slightly different finishes and levels of detailing. The scketches vary from relatively more minimalist likenesses to semi and realistic portraits. In some of them, you also get to see a different approach and style.
When each drawing contains 3 to 6 portraits, you really have a lot of faces to scroll through. And when the quality of the work is so good, the time spent on them is going to be a pleasure.
Ps. I gave the images some titles.
