A massive problem… of sorts

I found this puzzle while searching for something totally unrelated (author given under a spoiler at the end). It is a rather nice puzzle (in my opinion) and possibly one to let some less-experienced puzzlers have a go at first, so if you are a high-reputation user (and especially if you know a lot of Mathematics and/or physics), maybe allow some newer users a day or so to have a go before posting a solution…

Here is a set of balance beams with masses of 1kg, 2kg, 3kg, 4kg and 5kg perfectly balanced:

Here is another set of balance beams:

Place the masses 1kg to 5kg in the circles (one in each) to make the system balance.
