Their realistic finish is impressive.  The artist augments them by photographing the work on the sketchbook immersed in a sea of flowers/leaves of the same kind as the ones depicted.

Bright colours and beautiful detailing ensure that each image impresses.  They do so the moment your eyes rest on one of them during your walk down the page.
