I have been lucky enough over the years to have read some of the Twinkl teaching books and we have some in our school library. So when my personal favourite author Victoria Williamson  contacted me about this book that she had written I jumped at the chance to read it.

Join Molly on an adventure where wildcats, local legends and new friendships shape her summer in the Highlands.

This is a wonderful adventure – we follow 11 year old Molly as she arrives in the Scottish Highlands to spend a peaceful summer – or so she thinks.

Molly, who is learning to come to terms with progressive hearing loss is so relatable, I could go into my school and show you children just like Molly- and it’s wonderful for these children to see themselves in  a book.

We see Molly making friends and gaining confidence ( before she was homesick and anxious.) And learning to love the nature around her.

And soon Molly discovers a love for Wildcats – something we both share.

But soon the friends see some ghostly goings on,and have to work together to solve the mystery.

There are so many important issues going on in this book,the most  important being the impact of hearing loss, feeling included, empathy for others, belonging and looking after the natural world.

The reader will take so much out of this book.

What’s really great is that well known authors such as Victoria are writing these books.
