🌈Southampton Trip 2025 | 🖍️🌈💙Nate’s Coloring Book💙🌈🖍️

Big disclaimer, I did bring my camera with me on this trip but forgot my SD card at home, and because my camera is so old it will only read certain sizes & formats so I couldn’t find one that would fit. I was very sad about this 🥲 I hate my phone and keep it mostly uncharged so there isn’t as many pictures as there would have been had I had my camera working, super sorry!

☀️Wednesday

We had to get up at 4am for our flight which was crazy & we were very tired. Also was expecting to have nice Franky & Benny’s breakfast only to discover that they removed it for a not as nice restaurant 😭 Being vegan and vegetarian and the food I’ll actually eat being limited made this a struggle for us so not sure what we’ll do next time but oh well!

Looked around the small bookshop after breakfast and took some pictures of fun things I saw

The flight was very short, less than one hour. I played Lego Jurassic World on my Switch during it. Hangyodon was my friend of choice for reasons you will see later!

Once we had taken a nap and chilled for a bit we headed out to look around the nearby town. Which was mainly charity shops / small independent shops which was nice, we got a snack too

Got very excited for this shop that I thought was a garden centre which…it was not, it was a farm supply store haha. At least the mole was cute

Just hung out with my partners Dads dogs the rest of the day and prepared for our big day out tomorrow!

🌈Thursday

Big exciting day today because we are going to…Brighton! The vegan capitol of the UK and also home to the Artbox cafe which is somewhere I’ve wanted to go for awhile

I spent most of the ride coloring and started reading the first Five Nights At Freddys book

Once we were off the train we skipped over the toy museum ( a decision I regretted later as it was closed by the time we made our way back to the station ) to head right over to the Artbox cafe. The theme right now is My Melody & Kuromi

After this we just walked around the shops, very surprisingly didn’t pick anything up. There were many things I liked but the price was too much so I left behind

Once we’d walked around it was time to go to lunch, No Catch! A completely vegan fish & chip shop. Where I decided to go for shrimp ( where I wouldn’t die if I ate it lol ). I found it to be okay, I think next time I would go for their chicken nuggets, maybe just because I’m not a fish fan

We were meant to go to a vegan ice cream shop but it was shut ( boo ). Thankfully still managed to find vegan mr.whippy on the beach though! It was a horrible day for it, so windy, Eli managed to loose half his ice cream to it

We walked along the beach on our way to the Pier and stopped into a little art gallery that was fun

Arcade time! I love an arcade, especially the coin pushers which are my favorite. We won a couple rubber ducks here

After that we headed to What The Pitta for dinner, I wasn’t hungry so saved mine for lunch the next day – which was amazing and I wish we had one over here. I spent the train ride back reading my book

☀️Friday

Today we were headed into Poole to go to Brown Sea Island and hopefully see some Red Squirrels!

Once we arrived we had just missed our ferry so we sat down and ate our lunch, we also managed to find vegan ice cream again ( and chocolate ) so had some of that while we waited

Since we had just missed our original ferry we only had a few hours on the island, I liked watching the wader type birds as those are my favorite. We only managed to see a single red squirrel though!

🌈Saturday

Today was a chill day! Headed to a small carboot in the morning, where I found this hedgehog toy that was actually on my Christmas list last year for only £1.50

We read for most of the day but went out later to explore the area more & play in the woods

☀️Sunday

This day we headed to another carboot sale, an absolutely massive one. My first ever one that’s in a field, I was very excited because I love watching carboot videos on YouTube and seeing the toys people find

Afterwards there was a food festival in the town that we went to. I don’t have any photos but I had the most amazing vegan katsu chicken over fries, Eli had giant nachos. We read for the remainder of the day and once it got dark we went for a nighttime walk to see bats. Also realised there was an eclipse too which we didn’t know about before so that was a fun surpise

🌈Monday

Very special ( unplanned ) day!!! Which was probably much much too expensive to justify because the train prices are insane but for a ( probably ) once in a lifetime experience for me very worth it. Because this day we are doing one of my lifes dreams…visiting World Of Bears!!!

Pictures inside were not allowed, we didn’t realise this so there are a few before we noticed the sign. The shop was quite strict, you also weren’t supposed to touch the teddies ( which I ignored of course…oops ). But it was wonderful, amazing, incredible! I was allowed to pick out any teddy I wanted which was a hard decision, I was torn between 3 the Unitoys hippo, a Steiff penguin & a Steiff trex. I’m glad I ignored the cuddling signs because cuddling them all is exactly how I managed to choose my new friend…

I picked the Hansa cockatiel & the Unitoys hippo along with some other goodies

After that exciting stop it was time to head off to our next destination

This is where the day went from very good to…not so good ( for me ) as we headed into Bristol. Eli was getting a tattoo so I was to hang around by myself during this time, which didn’t seem so bad until it was

First problem was my phone was almost dead, I preserved it as best I could. I couldn’t find much around but searched and there was supposed to be an Entertainer nearby…I searched for close to an hour and NEVER found it so I’m convinced it just didn’t exist. I headed to McDonalds looking to charge my phone only to find they had boarded up all the outlets…okay…I ate my veggie fingers ( but they gave me rotten cucumbers for my side!!! boo!!!! ) and played Lego Jurassic World on my Switch trying to conserve my battery

This was fine until a group of teens started bothering me for having a teddy so I decided to leave and look for The Entertainer again…still I didn’t find it and by this point all the shops were closed. While I wandered around I was harassed several times, another time by a group of teens and twice by random people on the street. My phone was at 5% at this point, I was alone, and all the shops were closed. I tried to find somewhere to sit again like a coffee shop but again…all closed. My only option was McDonalds but they didn’t have outlets & there would be nothing for me to buy there as I had had a snack already & don’t drink carbonated drinks. I decided to try and walk to where Eli was getting his tattoo but ended up getting lost so I sat in a park and waited for him to get me

0/10 experience I do not think that I would like to visit Bristol again, it reminded me very much of Manchester which I feel is an equally scary & unpleasant place

We had Owee vegan for dinner ( which I also wish we had over here ) and read on the train home

🌈Tuesday

Today we go home…noooooo…not up to anything at all as our flight was in the morning. The airport was very small with only one restaurant to eat at, I had only just finished my burger when they started calling our flight to board ( nearly an hour early! ). I read on the flight and finished my book, we were charged an insane £56 to get home in a taxi from the airport which was a shock as it was only £15 to get there when we left to fly so that was annoying!

Feels good to go on holiday but also feels so so soooooooo good to be home as well. I had a fun time!
