Camping yay! After our previous trip we decided we wanted to try giving camping on the island a try, the canoe rental place closes in October so this time of year was the last chance to do it

While we were waiting for the others to grab the stuff they’d previously left ( had to do multiple trips ) Eli tried on the wetsuit we had rented

Took some pictures of Snor while waiting

Once they came back we hopped back into the canoes to scope out a place to camp. We settled on a very rocky beach ( bad idea later lmao ). And once we had done that a few of us decided to go back to the mainland to rent more wetsuits since only a few had. I was meant to bring my bathing suit but it was frosty in the morning and decided against it, they let us take the suits back for free which was so nice!
The photo doesn’t really do it justice but I swam over to the island across from us – no idea what the distance of that would have been, and back. Which everyone was very impressed by because nobody else was in the water much ( just like in Mull ). If you know me…you know me, I’m no exercise person, have no stamina, so I didn’t think it was that impressive if I could do it haha

After I was forced to come out of the water ( boo ) we went for a walk

By this time the sun was going down so we were starting on the fire & dinner, which was a pasta that David made for us!

I was a very cold baby at this point not having a good time about it so I stayed behind while everyone went on a night walk, which I regreted instantly because of course they saw several wallabys only like 10 minutes from where we were camped. After they got back we played Uno for a bit before going into our separate tents for awful sleep. In the morning there were wallaby footprints and poo around our tents so they had been around!
In the morning we went for a walk before packing up and I finally got to see a wallaby!!! A little baby one at that too

I would give this trip an 8 / 10. -2 points because so cold and awful sleep. Literally rocks digging into us haha. And our sleeping back is WAYYY too big so if anything it just made us colder. We will likely be doing a lot of camping next year now though as we have a tent and everything!
