☀️Isle OF Mull Summer 2025

☀️Isle OF Mull Summer 2025

We were gifted a family trip with my partners Dad to Mull ( our second time this year! ) for a few days. I’ll break this post up into each day so that it doesn’t get too confusing : )

☀️Day 1

Super early morning this day, like 4:30 AM early. A friend was staying over to watch the animals so we didn’t end up getting to bed until close to 12 ( where we had aimed like 10-10:30 lol ). I’m very big on needing my sleep so the car ride to Mull was rough, I really didn’t feel well combined with being hungry as well. Thankfully Eli’s sister had an Orange I could have so I felt a little better after that but still wasn’t the greatest ride!

Our ferry over was definitely lackluster compared to previous visits, despite it now being the busy season the boat was very small! Not what we’re used to

☀️Isle OF Mull Summer 2025

Once we were in Mull we went to a small cafe for breakfast and had a quick look at the visitors centre

Then it was time for our large treck! Which embarrassingly after discussing afterwards seemed to not be a big deal for anyone aside from me. This was the biggest “climb” I’d ever done and ontop of that with a bad knee injury as well, paired with the not great morning I had it was a struggle. Oddly enough the hardest parts were actually scaling back down the large amount we had climbed because of my knee haha

Ran into quite a few fun bugs but sadly I forgot my little viewer at home ( and didn’t dare to touch the beetles with pincers without it )

After our walk it was time to meet up with Eli’s Dad where we were staying, which I am realising now I forgot to take photos of aside from this one which was the view from our room. It was huge though, very fancy, including a bathtub where the water could actually go high enough to cover my stomach!

Once we were all settled it was time for…another walk haha. My knee was not very happy about this one. The remainder of the trip once we headed back to where we were staying for the night I decided to stay in while Eli & his sister went exploring, just in favor of not destroying my knee even further since the whole bulk of this trip is spelunking

The short walk was nice, this was my first time seeing Highland Cows up close, in the rocks of the beach we also came across a passed away seal pup & puffin, and I spotted some shrimp and even got one on my hand

See if you can find the shrimp! He’s very camouflaged hehe

🌈Day 2

The big scary day! Boat trip day! I actually originally wasn’t even supposed to be on this trip due to a phobia my partner & I both share, however he convinced me to join as well so that we could provide support for each other incase anything did happen ( thankfully nothing did – or at least we were lucky enough to not witness it )

Jellyfish we saw before getting on the boat

We mainly saw Gannets, Guillemot, Minke whale & Common Dolphins on the tour, which was very lucky because we have been trying to see dolphins every trip and never managed to!

Afterwards we went to grab something for lunch

Once we were done there all of us went around a small walk around a pond, which was refreshing because it was flat haha. Sadly we didn’t end up seeing too much there

On the drive back to where we were staying we stopped off at a beach to look at the shipwreck

☀️Day 3

Today we were going to visit Iona! I was nervous about this since it’s a religious island, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was very nice and I’d love to go back when we have more time to explore – maybe possibly stay over

On the drive there we even managed to spot a Sea Eagle

Once we were on the island we pretty much just walked around, we had a path in mind but ended up running out of time and heading back early otherwise we’d miss our ferry

We wanted to take a look in here but the entry price was…steep so we just admired from the outside haha

Somehow we managed to find vegan ice cream?? So ate that on the beach while waiting for our ferry

🌈Day 4

The last day! Boo, the plan today was to spend the whole day on the island before getting our ferry back home later

Most of the day was spent at the beach, I forget what the name of it was, but the water was freezing cold. Like my stomach hurt and skin hurt so bad getting into it, I was the only one who properly went in and was swimming for ages, I even managed to get stung by a ( small ) jellyfish. Swimming is something I love to do, but rarely get to do, I don’t have top surgery so only like to do it when it’s secluded. Which is NOT very often if ever. None of us brought towels so that was interesting

We went to a little cafe afterwards to get a snack and changed into different clothes. I had a tea here but didn’t end up drinking it cause I really didn’t like it ( boo! )

On our way to the ferry we got a loaf of sourdough bread from the side of the road

We also stopped off at this little waterfall

Eli’s sister wanted to see this castle so we stopped off there too, another place we wanted to look inside but were unable to due to the cost…but that’s okay, it wasn’t too long until the ferry so we headed back pretty soon afterwards

We headed to the ferry terminal and walked around the beach there, where an insane amount of jellyfish beached. One was still alive and we managed to save him but putting him back into the water. I collected lot’s of seashells here

And that’s everything! I know that this post is pretty late to be put up, I don’t really have an excuse other than mental stuff has been…weird lately. I had a bad episode, the worst I’ve had in years. I’m in a weird headspace at the moment, I don’t feel sad or anything but I know something is wrong with me because I’m clocking an almost 10 hour daily average on screentime. I don’t know, but enjoy! I’d like to be regularly posting here again but at present I’ve lost my camera so I don’t know how frequent that will be 😅
